The Trinity Wharf development occupies a prominent waterfront location in Wexford and forms a key part of the town’s ongoing regeneration. With its contemporary architecture and strong sense of place, the project required entrance signage that would be permanent, legible and architecturally integrated.

Entrance Signage in Natural Stone

We were commissioned to produce the main entrance signage, using raised granite lettering to create a refined and durable identity at points of arrival. Granite was selected for its longevity, resistance to weathering and ability to retain crisp detail over time — qualities essential for an exposed coastal environment.

Rather than applied metal or painted signage, the use of solid stone lettering delivers a permanent solution that feels embedded within the architecture itself.

Precision CNC Stone Cutting

All lettering for the project was produced using our CNC stone machining technology. Each letter was digitally set out before being precision-cut from solid granite, ensuring consistent sizing, accurate geometry and clean edges across the full signage set.

CNC machining allowed us to:

  • Achieve sharp, well-defined letterforms

  • Maintain consistency across multiple signs

  • Produce tight tolerances for accurate installation

  • Reduce material waste through controlled cutting

This process is particularly well suited to architectural lettering, where accuracy and repetition are critical to the finished appearance.

Quality Control and Finish

Once cut, the granite letters were carefully checked for accuracy, edge quality and surface finish before preparation for installation. The raised lettering creates natural shadow lines, improving legibility throughout the day as light conditions change.

The final result is signage that is understated yet confident — readable, durable and appropriate to the scale and quality of the development.

Stone Lettering for Contemporary Developments

This project highlights how CNC-cut stone lettering can be used effectively in modern architectural settings, combining the precision of digital fabrication with the timeless character of natural stone. At Trinity Wharf, the entrance signage provides a lasting first impression, reinforcing the development’s identity through material quality and craftsmanship.
